Allow us to begin by showing you the very first video of our cove/bay. The recording volume was on high, SO please pay attention to the intense quiet...
When we first stepped onto what is now our property back in 2016, we instantly knew that it was the perfect spot for us.
On that very first visit, we recorded this short video, AT FULL VOLUME, because we knew that no one would ever believe just how incredibly quiet the area was without proof! Watch and listen.

A Bit About Our Tides
We are situated on the coast of Maine. On the ocean. That means that we experience Atlantic Ocean tidal shifts. In our part of DownEast Maine, the tidal shift can vary between 10 and 14 feet. That means that, at times, our cove and bay will be nearly completely devoid of sea water, until the next tide comes in. Know too that our bay is mud bottom, not sand, so please plan accordingly, if you are entertaining the idea of venturing out into the water. Mud shoes (or old tennis shoes) are always a good idea. It's also quite important to note that, if you canoe (or bring your own kayaks), you must be aware of the tides so that you are not stranded. We always recommend that guests visit the U.S. Harbors website to view the tidal charts for the time that you will be visiting Maine.
Below are comparative photos of High vs Low tide. As you can see, our bay is extremely clean and clear of debris, which makes it excellent for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, or swimming (preferably with a wet suit).

If you travel further north, you'll discover even larger tidal shifts. Eastport Maine, for example, has tidal shifts of approximately 25 feet. As you continue north, into Canada's Bay of Fundy, the tides there can shift by up to 50 feet. Pretty cool, actually.
