Hello. We'd like to introduce ourselves...
We are a petite, private, secluded, and cozy getaway, a true couples' retreat, right on the Atlantic Ocean in DownEast Maine. We are a three-season (Spring, Summer, Fall) vacation rental cottage, available for week-long or long-weekend getaways.

The Little 'g' Cottage is an intimate space and perfectly situated for anyone who's looking to get-away and enjoy pure, peaceful solitude, surrounded by four acres of dense pine forest, with nearly 400' of shoreline, and a private little cove, all at your disposal.
Due to our diminutive size, 16'x24', we can happily accommodate one or two adults only. We are a secluded getaway ~ more specifically, a Couples' Retreat ~ for those who are seeking solitude in a remote & pristine coastal Maine location.
Please be aware that, with a maximum occupancy of two adult guests, we are not able to accommodate children/infants or pets, nor are additional, unregistered guests allowed to stay at our cottage.
The Little 'g' Cottage is adjacent to our larger home, The 'G' Spot Maine, and while we had rented The 'G' Spot Maine to vacationers/families in the past, its use as an Airbnb rental home is now 'by special request only'.
When staying at our Little 'g' Cottage, guests might occasionally see Mr. G & I across the way, at the main house. If so, please note that we will absolutely respect guests' personal space & privacy. If we know ahead of time that we'll be staying at 'the big house' during your stay at the cottage, we will let you know ahead of time and will happily coordinate a time for you to join us, if you'd like, for a glass of wine around our fire pit. Otherwise, we try very hard to NOT be at the big house when guests are in the Cottage. :)

How it all beganConstruction on our Little 'g' Cottage began & then stopped multiple times during 2020, and again in early 2021, due to COVID, sky-high lumber costs, the scarcity of available builders/supplies, and plenty of inclement weather. The cottages' exterior shell was finally completed in late 2022 and then we took over the interior construction and completion. Now it's time to share it with our guests!
The very first moment that we first saw what is now our beautiful 4.1-acre property, we knew instantly that we'd build a home and a guest cottage there as quickly as possible...and that's exactly what we did. The main house, The 'G' Spot Maine, is just across the driveway from the Little 'g' Cottage, yet each home has its own private 'space'. Both houses do share one driveway, our private little cove, the Atlantic Ocean, of course, and our outdoor firepit. While we originally imagined the cottage to be a hermit-like hideaway for Mr. G & I, after we'd rented our larger home for a few years, we felt that our cottage would be better suited as a quaint & quiet rental space for just one or two adults. Why stay here? One of the best parts of the Little 'g' Cottage, in our collective opinion, is the back 'wall of glass' (a cove-facing 9-foot-wide triple French door flanked by two large windows). Views of the water & our private little cove are seen from anywhere within the cottage.
The fact that we're close to Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor (located just 15 air miles south, as the crow flies, but actually 43 driving miles away) and less than five miles to coastal US 1, which is the original road that stretches the whole coastline of Maine, we feel as though we're perfectly situated to provide easy access to all of the bold, rocky coast of Maine. If you'd like to see more of what's nearby, please see our Location & Local Attractions page. Therefore, if you're looking for an honest-to-goodness getaway with serious downtime, then our cottage is ideal. If you have questions, always feel free to contact us. Important InfoLAUNDRY: our cottage has a smaller, portable/compact-size automatic washer & dryer. Both are located in the kitchenette and are capable of washing & drying a small amount of laundry. Heavy items cannot be washed or dried (like comforters or large loads of personal clothing). But, if needed for larger or bulkier items, the Town of Milbridge has a very nice, clean coin-operated laundry facility, right next to the grocery store.
We also have a clothesline, should you simply need to hang wet items outside to dry. WEATHER: should the weather suddenly turn cool, the cottage is equipped with baseboard heat to keep you warm & toasty. We've also provided an electric fireplace for that 'cozy atmosphere' that only a fireplace can add. To satisfy your desire for the real snap*crackle*pop of a live fire, we offer our outdoor firepit (firewood included). CHILDREN/PETS: keep in-mind that, due to our smaller size, we are not able to accommodate children/infants or pets. We are strictly a one- or two-adult hideout. What's so special about the Little 'g' Cottage? You mean, besides everything? :)
As you'll see mentioned frequently, The Little 'g' Cottage is very secluded and quiet. If you're looking for lots of night life with endless partying and bustling crowds, then this is NOT the place for you! However, if you are looking for a true respite, then this cottage is ideal. Doctor/Nurse? Writer? Artist? Fried-out Mom/Dad? Hermit? Look no further! Only steps away from the tidal Atlantic Ocean, you can kayak, paddleboard, swim (eek! Bring a wetsuit!), and canoe, when the tide is up, of course. We are nestled on four wooded acres with nearly 400 feet of private shoreline to hike & enjoy. Binoculars (provided) allow you to watch wildlife and the multitude of shore birds that regularly stop-by. The cottage itself is decorated in an upscale sea siren theme. Rattan/wicker furniture, antiques, beautiful art prints, and lots of fun touches make our cottage 100% unique. Come see for yourself! But please do keep in-mind that we are only a 16-foot x 24-foot cottage....basically the size of a hotel room (or a larger 'tiny home')....so please do not expect a grand, sprawling space. We are compact and comfy. Mostly, we offer a peaceful week- or weekend-long coexistence with nature, DownEast Maine-style, while still enjoying (most of) the comforts of home. |
Cottage SpecificsThe Little 'g' Cottage is only 16'x24', in its entirety, but it's packed with so much kitschy, vintage charm. Its 'siren of the sea' theme pays homage to the Town of Milbridge's robust seafaring and shipbuilding days of the 1800s.
Fresh ocean colours like lime, turquoise, and aqua (with just a splash of orange) against a background of distressed, whitewashed, and natural wood, adds to the cottages' clean-looking appeal and makes the space very soothing to the senses. The open studio bedroom features a queen-size, carved antique 1930's seashell-accented bed with fun, fresh linens, and plush blankets. Again, it bears repeating that the bedroom is open to the rest of the cottage space, mostly so that guests will not feel closed-in and can easily access all areas of the cottage, but additionally because we didn't want to close-off any of our beautiful views. The vibrant fish & starfish bathroom is really a half bath, divided ~ there's a water closet with a toilet, and then there's a separate vanity/dressing area just outside the W/C with a sink & mirror. The large, enclosed shower is located just outside on the back deck (if you've never taken an outdoor shower while at the ocean, you're truly missing out! Until now that is.....). We've also added a large outdoor soaking tub-for-two with a waterfall spillway! Our kitchenette is just that, a small kitchen, which means that it does not contain a full-size oven (nor a dishwasher), but it does offer a two-burner induction stovetop, a countertop 9-in-1 oven/air fryer combo (fry, bake, toast, broil, convection bake, etc.), a K-cup coffeemaker & French presses, microwave, smaller scale refrigerator, and various other small appliances, implements, and utensils to help make your stay enjoyable & convenient. If you imagine something about the size and layout of an RV kitchen, then you'll be thinking along the correct line of our kitchenette. The cottage also offers a wall-mounted flatscreen TV with DirectTV as our cable provider and Starlink internet, although we do not recommend, any type of telework or streaming/gaming, as we feel that it defeats the purpose of our truly remote getaway. Cottage RulesWe offer our cottage as a week-long or a long weekend rental. Our minimum stay is three nights, with a maximum of seven.
For the sake of complete transparency, we've had issues with previous rental guests not respecting our larger home, The 'G' Spot Maine, and leaving a path of dirt & destruction along the way. Therefore, we want to BE VERY CLEAR about the rental rules for our Little 'g' Cottage. If you are unable to follow these rules, then our cottage is not the proper choice for you. *SHOES OFF!
